Application Process & Time Line for Community Peer enrollment

Thank you for your interest in applying for enrollment in the Newton Early Childhood Program (NECP), the integrated preschool program for the Newton Public Schools, as a community peer. Our families value our focus on social and emotional development through play-based learning, and our emphasis on respect for human differences. The application process is as follows:

Parents who are applying as a community peer model complete an application and return it to NECP on-line from this site. Procedural timelines depend on meeting specific application dates. Parents may apply throughout the year as their child turns 3 years of age. We do accept rolling applications when openings exist within the program. Entrance into the program is first come first serve, with preference given to Newton residents and families with siblings who currently attend or have attended NECP. Student age is also a consideration based on classroom age opening.

*Please note if you have any special education concerns, please refer to the "special education services" tab on our website. You do NOT need to complete a community peer application if you are referring for special education.
